This is an older (1936)
Ward Brothers solid wood Whistler drake decoy in working repaint.
Originally carved and painted by Lem and Steve Ward of Crisfield,
MD. None of the paint is original, therefore this gunner has
very little collectible value.
The repaint is also vintage
and shows some stress and fine cracking at the head/neck joint.
Measures 14" long by 5" wide, by 4-3/4" high.
It is stamped on the bottom:
T. Bell who was the original rig owner and also has an inset
brass tack with the number 471 (previous collector ID tag).
