This is a solid wood handcarved and painted standing Downy Woodpecker. Signed Kent (New England Carvers). Very nicely detailed. Glass eyes. Radiates a unique character!

I am looking for any information, I can find concerning background or history on this carver and New England Decoys.

I purchased this bird and the Peregrine Falcon at a local estate a couple of weeks ago. The previous owner had no knowledge of either the carver, or NE Decoys, only mentioning that they had been in his parent's family for several years.

This carving measures 6" tall including the log base. The bird measures about 7" tip to tip. Perfect condition.
