American Crescent Cycles

American bicycles were marketed overseas by a number of manufacturers.

Several well-known artists of the Art Nouveau period created beautiful advertising posters for this purpose

Below left: Fredrick W. Ramsdell created this example for Crescent cycles in 1899.

Below: An ad for Crescent cycles from Harpers Magazine, date unknown.

Crescent cycles were made by the Western Wheel Works of Chicago, Illinois.

Western also had a sales office in New York City.
